The 45th Annual Granger Lakefest took place this weekend in Williamson County.

A breakdown of the total market value of properties in Georgetown shows that the city is prominently a residential community. However, the value of Georgetown’s commercial market saw the biggest increase from 2023 to 2024, with an increase of $600 million in value. The multi-family housing market saw an increase of only $200 million because, according to WCAD, there were no new multi-family units on the market in Georgetown from 2023 and 2024.

Georgetown sees taxable value boost

In the last five years, the total market value of properties in Georgetown has gone up $11.72 billion, and the value of commercial properties has nearly tripled, from a value of $1.39 billion in 2019 to $3.3 billion in 2024.

Solar roof manufacturing plant opens in Georgetown

Georgetown is now home to a solar roof manufacturing facility from GAF Energy. The company had the ribbon cutting ceremony for their 450,000-square-foot solar roof manufacturing facility on Wednesday, May 1.
Tecovas, an Austin-based apparel chain specializing in boots and Western wear, will renovate and move into the space that the Williamson County Sun used for its printing press until last summer, 709 Main Street.

Georgetown to welcome new Tecovas store on the Square, Tim Hortons location

The most recent Georgetown-based filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation are related to a Tim Hortons coffee shop, a Tecovas on the Square and an Einstein Bros bagel shop on Williams Drive.

Georgetown ISD trustee Jen Mauldin wins board seat for second term

Georgetown ISD voters gave school trustee Jen Mauldin a second three-year term in the May 4 trustee election. She defeated challenger Aaron Smith for Place 6, garnering 70 percent of the vote. Also elected was Stacy McLaughlin who ran unopposed for Place 7.
