After 11 years on the Square, Gumbo’s North has closed. The restaurant — located in the Old Masonic Lodge building on the corner of Seventh and Main streets — originally opened in October of 2012.

The annual Georgetown Church of the Nazarene Easter egg hunt was held Saturday, April 8, at the church, located at 4051 East University Avenue. 

AAUW raises $2,100 from Style Show

The Georgetown Branch of American Association of University Women returned with their annual Style Show and Silent Auction March 25. The event featured lunch and a silent auction of gently used purses filled with mystery items like jewelry and wine, all donated from local businesses.

Williamson County recognizes organizations fighting child abuse

Williamson County declared April National Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention month Tuesday, April 4, during commissioners court. County commissioners drew attention to the efforts of county organizations protecting county youth by reading a proclamation and recognizing the Go Blue Committee.

Central Texas Philharmonic receives W.D. Kelley Foundation grant for youth program

The Youth Orchestra Program of the Central Texas Philharmonic received a $50,000 grant from the W.D. Kelley Foundation earlier this month.  The program offers young musicians an opportunity to be mentored by professionals within the philharmonic.
