Truewood by Merrill is hosting a solo art exhibit by Lilly Ramphal Naley.  Her 11 paintings focus on fauna, forests and water. These paintings will be on display through April 5 at the senior living community,  4907 Williams Drive.

Georgetown ISD released its 2021-22 Texas Academic Performance Report — or TAPR as it’s called by the Texas Education Agency.  TEA requires school districts to hold an annual public hearing about the report’s contents.

Magnolia-based folk music duo Jamestown Revival will headline this year’s Red Poppy Festival.  The three day Red Poppy Festival takes place in downtown Georgetown April 28-30, with live music, entertainment, food and vendor booths.

Jarrell ISD trustees approved new elementary school attendance zones February 15 to accommodate the opening of Double Creek Elementary School in August. Trustees approved a plan recommended by the Attendance Zone Committee, which was made up of district staff and parents.

Six Georgetown alumni inducted into 2023 Hall of Honor

Six Georgetown High School alumni — all accomplished in their fields of endeavor — were inducted into the school’s Hall of Honor last week.  Those honored this year were Daniel Aleman, Stanford Armstrong, Norma Clark, Jim “Bo” Guess, Rebekah Grace Kiltz and Harvey David Watts.
