Georgetown City Council approved rezoning requests and special use permits for several incoming developments during its November 22 meeting. Projects include an outdoor food vendor venue along Austin Avenue, a single-family subdivision and a townhome development.

Preservation Georgetown’s Holiday Home Tour is set to return next weekend from December 10-11. The tour has been on hiatus since 2019 due to the pandemic, but Preservation Georgetown has brought back the annual fundraising event.

Long time Georgetown business Skinner Screens will celebrate its 50th anniversary this month. The company — which creates custom-fit window and porch screens for the greater Williamson County area — has occupied the same building, 1111 Williams Drive, since 1972.

Seeds of Strength presented CareBOX, a cancer patient support organization, with a check for $1,000 Tuesday, November 29. CareBOX is a nonprofit that formed in 2020. They deliver care packages to cancer patients in Williamson County and five other counties nearby.

Georgetown finalizes Courthouse View Corridor waiver process

Georgetown will allow developers to apply for waivers to the city’s Courthouse View Corridor restrictions following a November 22 city council decision. The waiver process was approved with amendments upon second reading.
