Devotional service to honor veterans

The public is invited to attend a devotional service honoring military veterans on November 9 at Faith Lutheran Church, 4010 Williams Drive in Georgetown. The service will feature retired Captain Dave Carey, a former Vietnam POW as a guest speaker. The devotional will begin at 10 a.m.

Council approves special use permit, school annexation

Georgetown City Council discussed incoming developments during a Tuesday, October 25, meeting. The council approved requests, including a special use permit for a senior living project and the annexation of roughly 52 acres.

Youth Fishing Derby on the horizon

The Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department will host a Youth Fishing Derby for children age 12 and younger 8-10 p.m., December 3, in San Gabriel Park. Admission is $5 per child. All participants must be accompanied by an adult/guardian for the duration of the event.
