Why are you running for office? The decision to seek the Justice of the Peace office was made with much prayer and consideration for everyone involved. Specifically, I thought about those who put their trust in the person who handles some of the most sensitive circumstances in their life.

After redistricting we found ourselves in Precinct 1, and soon thereafter learned of the underperforming record of the current Precinct 1 Justice Court. When I mentioned this to some of my friends and acquaintances, their response was 'What are you going to do about it?

Why are you running for office? I am running for reelection to keep working for the people of precinct 4. I’ve modernized the court and made changes that I feel are beneficial to the community. I take this position very seriously and work hard to always maintain impartiality.

I have been in public service most of my adult life. I am running for re-election to continue serving Precinct 3. I thoroughly enjoy this calling and believe I have made a significant difference by implementing worthwhile programs to help our citizens, not just punish them.

I am committed to giving taxpayers a better value for their tax dollar. The JP4 court is not performing efficiently. In 2021, JP4 heard approximately 3,100 cases to JP3’s over 16,000. Relationships with partner agencies and citizens are suffering as a result.

Georgetown residents voting on street maintenance sales tax reauthorization

Georgetown residents will vote on reauthorizing the city’s existing 0.25 percent street maintenance sales tax during the November 8 election. The city’s street maintenance sales tax has been in place since it was approved in 2002 with 57 percent voter support.
