A discussion Thursday evening to find common ground about preventing mass shootings broke down the complexities of threats and defenses in a violence-soaked society. The discussion, “How Can We Stop Mass Shootings?” was held Thursday at the Georgetown Public Library.

Horse lovers can shake up their Halloween with a costume trail ride in Garey Park October 29. Jodi Brassard, owner of Brassard Equine, has led a dress-up trail ride the past three years, usually hosted at Granger Lake. This year, the group will wind through the six-mile trail at Garey Park.

Sun City’s Fall Health Fair, held October 14 inside the Social Center on Texas Drive, brought hundreds of residents together with dozens of resource providers in medical and related fields. The semi-annual event in the ballroom and lobby included more than 70 vendors from a variety of specialists.
