A gas leak was detected Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of North Austin Avenue and Morrow Street in Georgetown, shutting down a section of the road through Friday evening. The Georgetown Fire Department first reported the leak Wednesday.

Human remains discovered in South Wilco field

The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday evening responded to a call from a field off Toll Road 45 and Mopac, where a worker discovered skeletal human remains. According to the sheriff ’s office, detectives responded and confirmed the remains are human.
