Celebrate community with National Night Out

National Night Out is approaching. Celebrated annually in neighborhoods across the country, National Night Out strengthens relationships between law enforcement and the community. This year, there are 70 parties registered within the Georgetown for Tuesday’s festivities.

Georgetown's fireworks ordinance bolstered

After increased emergencies resulted from illicit fireworks use this past July 4, Georgetown is adding a host liability clause to its existing fireworks ordinance. The clause was approved unanimously after first reading at Tuesday’s city council meeting.

Rock Springs Hospital to expand services

Georgetown behavioral health service provider Rock Springs Hospital broke ground September 21 for an inpatient adolescent unit. Rock Springs, located at 700 Southeast Inner Loop, has a 12-bed adolescent unit, with 60 additional beds serving adults.

Ascension starts on health center

Ascension Seton held a groundbreaking for a new center in Georgetown Thursday. Ascension Seton Health Center Georgetown is located in the Wolf Lakes area near the future H-E-B on University Avenue, west of Interstate 35. The center will offer outpatient specialties, surgeries and imaging services.

Small Andice church has big plans this week

The Oak Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church had dwindled to three people in 2014, but the Andicebased congregation hopes to bring in a new following with a classic Revival beginning this weekend.
