Second fentanyl murder trial leads to 40 years in prison

A Williamson County jury on June 11 sentenced Caleb Comer, 27, of Liberty Hill, to 40 years in prison for murder in the fentanyl-related death of 18-year-old Matthew Wright of Cedar Park. The sentencing follows the jury’s guilty verdict in the case.

Sun City residents urge county to rescind $45 million in unused road bonds

More than 100 Somerset Hills Sun City residents packed the Commissioners Courtroom to advocate for rescinding an unused $45 million in road bond approvals via an election.

Shotgun house tours, music and protest set for Juneteenth

The annual Juneteenth celebration at the Georgetown Community Center was held last Saturday, but the community will come together again Friday, June 19, to mark the day in 1865 when federal troops arrived in Galveston to announce all enslaved people were freed.

Lake Georgetown no longer under drought watch

The Brazos River Authority, which works with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for water supply storage and water reservoirs, announced that Stage 1 drought watch has been lifted for Lake Georgetown due to the recent rains. The lake has been under Stage 1 watch since March.
