Taylor stabbings lead to Jarrell arrest

The Taylor Police Department is investigating a homicide that occurred on the evening of October 7, just before 11:26 p.m.

Retired rodeo clown Larry Clayman inducted into national hall of fame

After a career as a rodeo clown, bull fighter and announcer — one that allows him to meet a president, a queen and a pope — Florence resident Larry Clayman will be inducted into the National Rodeo Hall of Fame this November.

The legendary Coupland Dancehall — which in August announced it would close after more than 120 years — will be taken over by Lightstream Presents, the same live entertainment group that owns the Haute Spot in Cedar Park.

Texas Municipal League eyes Georgetown for new headquarters

The old Wesleyan building at 205 East University Avenue could be taken over by the Texas Municipal League as is seeks approval for a request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for any potential future additions or demolitions to the building from the Historic Architecture Review Commission.

Georgetown’s arts-filled weekend starts October 16

Kick off the arts weekend in the Georgetown’s South Main Arts District Plaza with the announcement of the 2025–2026 Sculpture Tour Awards at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, October 16 behind Grace Heritage Center, 817 South Main Street.
