Animal shelter merger starts mid-July

The Georgetown Animal Shelter and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter will officially merge on July 14. On that date, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter campus at 1855 Inner Loop will serve as the central location for main shelter services.

Fire engulfs another historic Taylor building

A fire destroyed the Old Dickey-Givens Community Center building located at 903 East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard early Sunday morning, June 29.The Taylor Fire Department responded to the scene at approximately 8:45 a.m., according to a news release from the city.

2% electric rate increases on the way

$15,000 grant supports mobile mammography unit

Lone Star Circle of Care in Georgetown received a $15,000 Blue Impact grant from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas to help with operational support for its Big Pink Bus mobile mammography unit.

Election adjustment: Williamson County takes steps toward new voting system

In preparation for the November 2025 Constitutional Amendment Election, Williamson County is adjusting some election equipment.
