Through performances, camaraderie, Georgettes kick aging stereotypes

The Georgettes are a drill team club in Sun City that incorporates marching and precision dance while using pom-poms as props.The Sun City Georgettes do about two performances per month at gatherings like sports games and the Red Poppy Festival.

Teen earns scholarship for courtroom leadership

Drug bust finds assortment of substances, guns

In a recent narcotics investigation, detectives in the Williamson County Sheriff ’s Office Organized Crime Unit found over 90 grams of assorted drugs in the 2000 block of Kuykendall Drive in Georgetown.

GISD breaks ground on new East Georgetown schools

 Two new Georgetown ISD schools— an elementary and a middle school — will open on Patriot Way in East Georgetown ahead of the 2026-27 school year.GISD trustees and Superintendent Devin Padavil officially broke ground on the 2024 bond projects Friday, May 9.

Cedar Park fire chief joins state fire commission

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Cedar Park Fire Chief James Mallinger to the Texas Commission on Fire Protection last month for a term that runs until February 1, 2029. In his role as commissioner, Chief Mallinger will offer guidance and support to fire departments across Texas.
