Community Thanksgiving returns November 24

Georgetown’s Community Thanksgiving is coming back the first time since 2019.

The dinner will be held on Thanksgiving Day, November 24. The sitdown meal will be free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Georgetown Community Center, 445 East Morrow Street, in San Gabriel Park.

Meals can also be delivered to homebound residents. Dinner will include traditional fare including turkey, dressing, gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans, rolls and sweet potatoes. Water and tea will also be available.

The event is supported by the Georgetown Police and Fire Departments, the Beard Club, Sonic, Jimmy Vega Smokehouse and GW Pyro.

Community Thanksgiving organizers are seeking volunteers to assist with event setup, food preparation, serving, logistics and clean-up.

Previous dinners have served up to 500 guests.
