Bleecker Lansing Morse Jr. (Popie) was born on April 30, 1928, and passed away
August 3, 2023.
Devoted husband of 70 years to Catherine “Kitty” Morse (deceased).
Loving father to his four children, Bob Morse (Monica), Julia DeGlandon (Larry, deceased), Trey Morse (Linda), by whom he is preceded in death, and Kay Pate (Joe, deceased).
Cherished by his five grandchildren, Ren Henry (Lee), Melissa Conlee (Billy), Amanda Koch (J.J.), Max Gebhardt (Kaitlyn) and Tara Lundberg (Jason).
Treasured by his eight great grandchildren, Bryce, Dillon, Bailey, Ayden, Sawyer, Britton, Scarlett and Hudson.
Popie will be greatly missed, but the legacy of his strength and steadfast loyalty and love will be in our hearts forever.
Bleecker served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was involved in many community activities. A Boy Scout leader from 1962-1970. Along with both of his sons he built and started up the Jollyville Volunteer Fire Department (1975-1978). He was a Charter Member of the Jollyville Sertoma Club, and American Legion Veterans Organization. He was Founder and President of the Acres West Neighborhood Association. He was dedicated to his Republican Party in San Antonio, as well as Williamson County where he served as a Precinct Chair.
There will be a memorial service to celebrate his life on September 9 at Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills.
