Mary E. “Pete” Sanders, age 92 of Georgetown, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023 in Georgetown, Texas.

Pete was born August 1, 1931, in Brandon, Texas to Ed and Corena Frazier. She attended school in Hillsboro, Texas and graduated from Hill County College in 1950. On September 14,1950, she married Hooper Sanders Jr. and they moved to Denton, Texas where he started his career.

In 1997, they moved to Sun City in Georgetown to be near family. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, serving as an Elder in the Big Spring Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers: Billy Bob Frazier and Monroe Frazier; her sister, Athalee Martin; her nephew, Jesse “Roddy” Martin; nephew, Gerald Frazier of Brandon; and her beloved husband of 61 years, Hooper.

Pete is survived by her nieces: Pamela Brown and husband Ronald of Frost, Emelee Hoyle and husband Larry of Granbury; great nephews: Brian Hoyle and wife Kendra of Tyler, Jason Hoyle and wife Adria of Mansfield, Chad Martin and wife Suann of Bentonville, Arkansas, Kyle Brown of Irene, Chris Frazier and wife Susan of Lubbock, James Frazier and wife Michelle of West, and Jody Frazier of Bynum; great nieces: Tammie Dunn of Canton, Paige Jones and husband J. B. of Italy; and seventeen great-great nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Hillsboro, Texas.
