Miguel Méndez, 86, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away at home of natural causes on Friday, January 26, 2024.
Miguel was born on September 29, 1937, in his beloved community of El Astillero, Zacatecas, Mexico and was the second oldest of seven children.
Miguel married Inocencia Navejas Bañuelos on May 18, 1963. He worked in agriculture tending to tobacco farms in Nayarit, Mexico before immigrating to Chicago, Illinois where he joined his siblings. In 1994 he moved his family to Round Rock, Texas where he worked at the famous Round Rock Donuts (Lonestar Bakery) for many years.
He embodied the best qualities, had a humorous personality, and enjoyed socializing. He was a great friend to many, and his family loved him very much. Miguel was also a baseball fanatic and enjoyed playing the sport as a young man.
He is preceded in death by his parents Félix Méndez López and Tiburcia Navejas Graciano, and his siblings Elías and Demetrio. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Inocencia, three brothers and sister, seven children, 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and many extended family members.

Miguel nació el 29 de septiembre de 1937 en su querida comunidad de El Astillero, Zacatecas, México y era el segundo mayor de siete hermanos.
Miguel se casó con Inocencia Navejas Bañuelos el 18 de mayo de 1963. Trabajó en la agricultura atendiendo granjas de tabaco en Nayarit, México antes de emigrar a Chicago, Illinois, donde se unió con sus hermanos. En 1994 se mudó con su familia a Round Rock, Texas, donde trabajó en el famoso Round Rock Donuts (Lonestar Bakery) durante muchos años.
Encarnaba las mejores cualidades, tenía una personalidad divertida y disfrutaba socializando. Era un gran amigo para muchos y su familia lo quería mucho. Miguel también era un fanático del béisbol y disfrutaba practicar el deporte cuando era joven.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Félix Méndez López y Tiburcia Navejas Graciano y sus hermanos Elías y Demetrio. Le sobreviven su esposa de 60 años Inocencia, tres hermanos y una hermana, siete hijos, 13 nietos, dos bisnietos y muchos familiares.
