Bert Gregg Love, born on August 14, 1936, died on February 8, 2024. 

Bert Gregg Love of Georgetown, Texas, has gone to be with his Savior and begin his eternal life. He passed away peacefully in his home the morning of February 8, 2024. He was 87 years old. Bert married Wilma Lee Hardin on October 2, 1955, at First Baptist Church in Round Rock, Texas. They enjoyed 68 years together and had three children, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. 

Bert graduated from Round Rock High School in 1954 then joined the National Guard and served for two years before joining the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and serving until his retirement in 1976. During his time in the Air Force he attended various military schools, earned a degree from Park University and attended Webster’s University Master’s Program. He earned four Air Force Commendation Medals and one U.S. Meritorious Service Medal. His family accompanied him on all his permissible Air Force assignments, especially England and Iceland. In Iceland he developed a Little League Baseball program, coached a team and was also a Cub Scout leader. Bert was all about the growth and love of all children. 

Bert is survived by his wife Wilma, daughters Cynthia Waymire (husband Larry) and Kathy Love. His son Gregg Love II (wife Carrie). Grandchildren Sean Davis (wife Kristen), Shannon Haney (husband Andrew), Lyndi Fleckenstein (husband Eric), Brandon Waymire (wife Stephanie) and Wesley Love. Great-grandchildren Parker and Brady Davis; Madelyn, Samantha and Weston Haney; Nolan, Evelyn and Wyatt Fleckenstein; Oliver Love. His sister Elizabeth Williamson and brothers Roy Jay Love and Louis Love. He also has one brother-in-law Marvin Hardin. 

Bert was preceded in death by his father JE Love and mother Bertha Lee (Joplin) Love. Sisters Peggy Dyson, Mary Cast, Louise Hobbs and Janie Warren. Brothers Ray Love, Daniel Love, Vernon Love, Jack Love and Allen Love.

Viewing will be from 1-1:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 14, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North Interstate 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. 

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday February 14, at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North Interstate 35, Austin, Texas 78753. Officiating will be Reverend Dr. Donald Guerrant.
