Laura Helen Wolf (Noack)
Laura Helen Wolf (Noack)
1953-2024: Laura Helen Wolf, 70, of the Georgetown/Walburg community died peacefully in her Harlingen residence on February 12, 2024.
Laura was born in Georgetown, Texas, on July 14, 1953, to August and Rubina Noack, the youngest of nine children in a devoted Lutheran household. She began her schooling at Zion Lutheran School in Walburg, where her faith and education were cultivated into the foundation of her future family. Laura graduated from Georgetown High School as a part of the Class of 1971. After high school, Laura began working at Georgetown Title Company and steadily advanced over 40 years from an entry level position to Vice President of the company.
Laura married Mark David Wolf at Zion Lutheran Church on November 24, 1973. The young couple quickly became a pillar to the neighboring St. Peter Lutheran Church and its youth group. They then began a family of their own, having David in 1979 and Sarah in 1983.
After years of care and support, the unfortunate passing of Mark in 1994 left Laura to raise their kids on her own. Laura’s faith and perseverance, coupled with the support of her family and friends, led to a full life anchored in love and service to anyone she knew. Nothing exemplified this more than the annual family reunions at the Wolf Party Barn.
Outside of work, Laura was often found barefoot in the garden with a cold beer in hand. Her other love of nature took her to the beach as often as she could, where she enjoyed walking for hours along the shoreline and spoiling her kids and grandkids.
Laura is proceeded in death by her husband, Mark, her parents, August and Rubina, brother Edgar Noack and wife, Ramona, and brothers-in-law, Bud Fehl, Woody Duran and Bill Kalmbach.
Laura is survived by her son, David (Erika) and daughter, Sarah (Justin), grandkids Zerran, Ivan, Serena (Lucas), Ryan, Mikah, Bryce and Ethan, her mother-in-law Evelyn, brothers Richard (Paula) and Slim (Judy), sisters Vi, Margaret, Clara, Stella (Garland), Linda (Junior) and an abundance of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 16, from 5-7 p.m. at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, located at 393 North Interstate 35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. Friends and family are also invited to attend a memorial service, held on Saturday, February 17 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church, located at 2929 FM 972, Georgetown, Texas 78626.
The family wishes to recognize and thank Yvette Cano and her team at Treasure Hills Residential Care Homes in Harlingen, Texas, for their years of loving care for Mom.
In lieu of flower or gifts, the family requests following Mom’s example and making donations to St. Peter Lutheran Church for its use in furthering God’s kingdom.
