Robert “Bob” Phillip White

Robert “Bob” Phillip White, born August 28, 1925, in Danville, Illinois, died December 30, 2023, in Georgetown, Texas. He volunteered and served as an officer and pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

Following marriage to Mary C. Kyle, he attended the University of Michigan, where in 1950, he received his degree in architecture and design. He moved to Beaumont, Texas, to start a family and to commence professional practice.

Prior to retirement in 1976, he was the senior and managing partner in the White Budd Van Ness Partnership, an architectural, engineering and project management firm. During his tenure, the firm had offices in Houston, Beau-mont, Texas, and Washington D.C., and served on repeat building projects for federal and state government entities, and some of the most sought-after clients in commerce, education, healthcare and industry. After his retirement, the firm continued under his name.

Bob was Member Emeritus of the American Institute of Architects, and he served as President of the Southeast Texas Chapter. An avid hiker, hunter, and fisherman, Bob traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada in pursuit of those interests,

Bob is survived by his wife Patty, three children Robert P. White, Jr., Donald White, and Judy Waldo, his stepdaughter Darin Hallam, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his daughter, Kyle White.
