Joseph Weldon Morton, Jr., 77, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away February 14, 2024, at Hospice Austin’s Christopher House.
The immediate family will attend the burial at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on March 8, 2024. A visitation for family and friends will be held on March 9, 2024, at 210 Richard Road, Georgetown, Texas, 78626 from 2-6 p.m.
Joseph was born on August 4, 1946, in Ft. Lewis, Washington, to Joseph Weldon Morton Sr. and Lillie Maude Saunders Morton. He graduated from Killeen High School.
Joseph served in the United States Air Force from December 20, 1966 to December 9, 1970.
He was stationed at the Kincheloe Air Force Base in Kinross, Michigan, during his time of service. Joseph received the rank of sergeant on October 1, 1968. After serving in the Air Force, Joseph started working as a grocery salesman. Joseph owned and operated an auto collision repair shop. He then went on to be a salesman of automotive test equipment. Joseph enjoyed the hobbies of welding and working on and repairing automobiles.
Joseph is survived by his son, Bradley Morton and wife Lynn Morton; grandchildren, Zachary Morton and wife Mackenzie Morton and Cameron Morton; and his step sister, Joann Morton White.
Joseph is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jo Ellen Morton, and son, Craig Morton.
