Barbara Barton

Barbara Barton, beloved mother, grandmother, and elementary teacher, passed away on May 7, 2024, at 86. Born on April 27, 1938, in New Rochelle, New York, she most recently lived in Georgetown, Texas. Barbara had a fulfilling career as an elementary teacher, nurturing countless young minds.

Barbara was a woman of many passions and hobbies. Barbara enjoyed baking, spending time with friends, playing cards, shopping, Mexican food, and easy listening music. Her kind, easy-going nature earned her the nickname “Grammy” from her grandchildren, Shannon, and Kaitlyn. She was a loving wife to James Richard Barton and mother to Kimberly, Karen, Robert, and Kevin, cherishing her role as grandmother to Alexa, Shannon and Kaitlyn.

Active in her community, Barbara volunteered at the “Assistance League” and back-to-school charity events. Her calm demeanor helped her navigate life challenges with grace. Barbara Barton will forever be remembered for her kindness, love and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those she touched. Barbara will be deeply missed by her sister, Linda, her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her.

A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Ramsey Funeral Home.
