Tonya “Toni” Schroeder Zeilinger, 89, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Georgetown, Texas.

Born on December 9, 1934, in Alameda, California, Toni was the only child of Edmund Schroeder, who served at the rank of colonel in the US Army Air Forces during WWII, and Norma (Howe) Schroeder, a graduate of Heald Business College.  Toni attended Humboldt State University, where she met her to-be husband, Thomas Rocha, was elected Homecoming Queen, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education; she went on to become a teacher for the next three decades.

Toni was fearless and courageous; as a single mom for more than a decade, she developed entrepreneurial instincts and began to invest in real estate.  When she remarried to Earl Zeilinger, the love of her life, she and her new husband charted new waters to successfully blend their children to become a new family.  She was also a two-time cancer survivor, a true testament to her strength.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Zeilinger; and survived by her children: Alison Leary of Kaneohe, Hawaii, Jeffrey Rocha of Morgan Hill, California, Susan Meyers of The Villages, Florida, and Patricia Schillizzi of Tucson, Arizona; her sisters: Wendy Bruckner and Lynn Miller of Houston, Texas, and Susan Driscoll of Williamsburg, Virginia; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Gestures of remembrance may be made by donations in her name to the charities that Toni supported during her life:  Wounded Warrior Project, Shriners Hospital, and St. Jude’s.

A time of Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. on Thursday, September 19, 2024, in The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. 5600 Williams Drive, Georgetown, Texas 78633.

The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. in the The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home with Rev. Jim McLendon presiding.

Mrs. Zeilinger will be laid to rest at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery with the date and time forthcoming. 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California 95620.
