Angelita “Angie” Martinez

Angelita “Angie” Martinez, 88, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on September 19, 2024.

Angie was the second oldest of eight born on August 11, 1936, to Vincente and Rosa Martinez in Knippa, Texas. At a young age, Angie took care of her siblings and worked on various farms and ranches. In 1955, Angie met Elias Martinez in Morton, Texas, and married soon after. Angie and Elias had five children - Vickie, Patricia, Diane, Eli Jr., and Jennifer. They resided in Hart, Texas, for over 30 years before moving to Plainview, Texas, then eventually to Georgetown, Texas, in 2007.

A loving mother and homemaker, Angie always made time for everyone. She was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She always provided support and love for her family. Angie and her husband Elias worked tirelessly to provide opportunities for their kids. She would proudly boast about all seven of her grandchildren and four great-grandkids. Angie was the heart and soul of her family, and she will be dearly missed.

Angie was predeceased by her loving husband of 67 years, Elias. She is survived by four sisters, her children Vickie, Patricia (husband Tim), Diane, Eli Jr. (wife Candy) and Jennifer (husband Marc); her seven grandchildren Brandon, Adriano (wife Debbie), JD, Devin (wife Demi), Joshua, Isabella, and Wesley; and her four great-grandchildren Johnny, Braxton, James, and Elijah.

A visitation was set for on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel from 6-8 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7 p.m. The following morning, Wednesday, September 25, 2024, a Funeral Mass will be held at St. Helen Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Afterwards, Angie will be taken to Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved Elias.
