Like many, he wore a "Go Carla Go" sticker on his jersey to honor fellow cyclist Carla Hoffman, who was severely injured when struck by a motorist on June 14th in Taylor. Hoffman was in attendance today, riding the 50-mile distance.
Coordinated by Lone Star Circle of Care, the Mamma Jamma Ride raises funds for Lone Star's Big Pink Bus, their mobile mammography unit. The ride honors those who are battling breast cancer, or those who lost their lives to the disease. The event launched form Taylor Saturday, September 21, this year, with ride distances of 70, 50, 25 and 15 miles.
