Williamson Museum Ghost Tours
Through October 19, times vary (Friday and Saturday only)
Learn about history, as well as ghost stories and haunted venues around the Square. Tickets are $15 for museum members and $20 for nonmembers. First-come, first served, limited to 20 people per tour. Tours are held Friday and Saturday each week from October 4 to 19, with staggered tours beginning at 7:30, 8, and 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at www.williamsonmuseum.org.
Round Rock Pumpkin Festival
Through October 27, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Held at Old Settlers Park from September 28 to October 27, the third annual Round Rock Pumpkin Festival and Pumpkin Patch offers food, funnel cakes, face painting, free games, a bouncy house, corn pit, farm animals, pumpkin painting and, of course, thousands of pumpkins. Photo ops aplenty. The community event is family and pet friendly. Live music is available on weekends. The festival is closed on Tuesdays, but open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every other day of the week. First United Methodist Pumpkin Patch

Open daily October 10-31, the First United Methodist Pumpkin Patch is a Georgetown favorite. Located at 410 East University Avenue, the pumpkin patch is open Monday-Friday from 1-7 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit www.fumcgt.org for more information.
Texas Pumpkin Fest

With thousands of pumpkins, ample fall activities and a new indoor Hall of Monsters attraction, the Texas Pumpkin Fest is set to return to Leander this fall. The festival is open October 4-31 at 8760 Farm to Market Road 2243, between Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Highway 183 in Leander. The venue is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays-Sundays, as well as on Columbus Day and Halloween. Activities offered include pony rides, a petting zoo, magic shows, pumpkin smashing, zombie-run laser tag, axe throwing, pumpkin pie eating contests, face painting and balloon twisting. There will also be a pumpkin sling-shot, a 65-foot super slide, a DJ dance tent, rides and plenty of food trucks and beer vendors. Sweet Eats Adventure Farm Fall Festival

Join Sweet Eats in celebrating the fall season with a 4.5 acre corn maze and flashlight corn maze, more than two acres of pick your own pumpkins, 11 foot tall pumpkin house, wagon rides, turkey legs, Oktoberfest beer, live music, kettle corn, food trucks and more. Art Hop XVII

Organized by Georgetown Art Works, Art Hop is a statewide art exhibit held each fall in Georgetown. Submissions are on display throughout the month of October at venues including the Georgetown Public Library and San Gabriel Unitarian Universalist Fellowship Hall. Misery

Based on a Stephen King novel and film adaptation, Misery follows successful romance novelist Paul Sheldon, who is rescued from a car crash by his “number one fan,” Annie Wilkes, and wakes up captive in her secluded home. The Neutral Ground Showing

Sponsored by the Move the Monument Coalition, The Neutral Ground documentary will be screened in the Hewlett room at the Georgetown Public Library on Tuesday, October 15 from 7-9 p.m. There will be a discussion following the documentary facilitated by Southwestern University Professor of Communication Studies Bob Bednar, Courageous Conversations’ Georgianne Hewett, Southwestern University Chaplain Ron Swain and Manda Wittebort, the director of public engagement at Southwestern University.
World Cinema series features classic horror films

The Georgetown Public Library will show three classic horror movies as part of its World Cinema series in October. Films include The Invisible Man on October 9, The Wolf Man on October 16 and Dracula on October 23. All movies start at 6:30 p.m. Popcorn will be provided. Autumn Art Stroll

PFLAG Georgetown Support Group Meeting

PFLAG Georgetown is a chapter of PFLAG, the country's first and largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating and advocating for LGBTQ+ people and their families. The organization holds a monthly support group for parents and allies of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as for members of that community. The Georgetown Sculpture Tour in the outdoor plaza at the Summit at Rivery Park, 1500 Rivery Boulevard. After the award winners are announced, enjoy a screening of Nosferatu accompanied by the Central Texas Philharmonic, then stroll over to the Sheraton Austin Georgetown Hotel & Conference Center for a printmaking demonstration by artist in residence, Alfonso Huerta of Flatbed Center for Contemporary Printmaking. In addition, as part of the Georgetown Sculpture Tour, there will be three new sculpture locations just outside the hotel and in the outdoor plaza at the Summit at Rivery Park.
Hand to God

Southwestern University presents Hand to God by Robert Askins is a dark comedy that delves into the chaotic world of adolescence, religion and the supernatural. Set in a devout Texas town, the play follows troubled teen Jason as he grapples with his inner demons, embodied by a foul-mouthed hand puppet. The battle between good and evil is a wild ride of irreverent humor and thought-provoking moments. Caution, the play contains adult themes, sexual content, language and violence. Walk to End Alzheimer’s

On Saturday, October 19, join the fight against Alzheimer’s at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Williamson County. This year’s walk will take place in Georgetown on the Southwestern University Campus at 1001 East University Avenue, with the ceremony beginning at 9 a.m. Individuals can learn more information, organize a team or join an existing team at alz.org/walk. Everyone who raises at least $100 will receive a free T-shirt. Last year, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s Williamson County raised more than $74,600. This year’s goal is $87,000.
South Main Arts Festival

Quickly becoming a fall tradition, Georgetown’s South Main Arts Festival showcases arts, culture and live music at the South Main Art District next to the Georgetown Art Center. Special exhibits will be on display at the Art Center and Grace Chapel, while performances and demonstrations take place outside.
AAUW Duck Race Fundraiser

Come have fun at the annual American Association of University Women Duck Race, held in San Gabriel Park on Saturday, October 19 at 11 a.m. During the event, 300 rubber ducks will race in heats down the river to be corralled by the members of the Georgetown Fire Department dive team. Races are quick, so make sure to get there on time. The event is free, but guests can sponsor a duck for $10. Money raised will go to fund scholarships for seniors in Georgetown ISD. GISD’s Annual 50 Fellas Food Fest

The Georgetown ISD Education Foundation Is hosting its 7th Annual 50 Fellas Food Fest on Saturday, October 19 at the Ride On Center for Kids event barn to support students in Georgetown ISD. Nearly 50 teams will showcase their culinary talent with appetizers, entrees and desserts. Entries will be sampled and judged by guests with awards given by popular vote in each category. Tickets to the event are $75 each and include tastings from every team, plus complimentary beer, wine, tea, and water. Guests will also enjoy live music and a live auction. The event supports Hounds for Heroes to help train dogs for first responders and veterans. WHO plans to have 200 vehicles from all classes and a Holiday Bazaar. Williamson County Fair and Rodeo

The Williamson County Fair and Rodeo takes place in late October each year to celebrate the county’s agricultural and cowboy roots. It relaunched in 2021 as a three-day event held at the Williamson County Expo Center on Bill Pickett Trail in Taylor and includes local vendors and performers, fair rides, food and family-friendly opportunities to watch amateur and professional rodeo showcases. 16th Annual EGA Boo Run
