It is with great sadness the family of Cecilia Rose Dalberg Pessarra announce her peaceful passing to her reward in heaven on November 24, 2024.

Cecilia Dalberg Pessarra was born in Houston, Texas, to Richard Leo Dalberg, Sr. and Georgina Marie Bonneau. Cele was raised in Freeport, Texas, and graduated from Brazosport High School in 1955. She graduated from Loretto Heights College in Denver, Colorado. with a Bachelors in biology.

Cele married the love of her life, Joseph “Joe” Harvey Pessarra, on 8 April 1961. Cele raised a family in Jones Creek, Texas, and worked many years at Dow Chemical as a medical technologist. Cele and Joe enjoyed their retirement in Georgetown, Texas, and remained happily married for 55 years, until Joe’s passing in 2016. Cele was a long time active and faithful parishioner at Saint Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Freeport, Texas.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Harvey Pessarra; her father and mother, Richard Leo Dalberg Sr. and Georgina Bonneau Dalberg, her beloved aunt, Regina Bonneau; and her close brother Richard Leo Dalberg Jr.

Cele is survived by her daughter, Paige Pessarra Lavorando (Michael) of Laguna Beach, California; her son, Richard Pessarra (Suzani) of Lafayette, Louisiana and three loved grandsons Leo Lavorando, Rubem Pessarra and Francisco Pessarra. She is also survived by loyal caregiver and longtime friend Norma Rodriquez; by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.

A Catholic graveside memorial service and inurnment is planned for the spring of 2025 at Restwood Cemetery in Clute, Texas. The day and time will be announced as the date for the service approaches.
