Elizabeth Joyce Barton, beloved mother of 3 children, 77, of Walburg, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2025.
She was born in Washington, D.C., in 1947 to John and Vivian Haymaker and was known for her flaming red hair. Her nickname was Betty Joy because she always had a smile on her face. She later preferred to go by Lisa. After high school, she attended the University of Maryland majoring in music and art. She left college to marry her beloved husband, Allan Barton, she later helped him by managing his veterinary practice for 35 years.
Lisa was a devoted mother of Michael, Christine and Thomas, and grandmother to Matthew, Amanda, Nicholas and Ginny Rose. She loved them deeply and she said many times she would give her life for them in a second. She always said they made her life complete, and they felt that in the love and support she provided.
She was survived by her husband of 56 years, Allan. They had a very blessed relationship. Friends would seldom see one without the other. They were truly one.
She was devoted to God and her church, and had a passion for Operation Christmas Child.
Elizabeth Barton is survived by Allan, Michael, Christine and Thomas, who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.
A funeral will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in the worship center on Tuesday, February 25 at 10 a.m. with an interment in Zion’s cemetery to follow. A visitation will be held the evening before, February 24, from 6- 8 p.m.
at Ramsey Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Gifts in Elizabeth’s name may be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
