Mark was born in Dallas, Texas, on August 30, 1956. He was the youngest of four children, having two sisters and a brother. He was married to Barbara, who he loved dearly, for more than 46 years. His daughter Tara, who meant the world to him, resides in North Dallas with her husband and young son. Mark’s interests included science, philosophy, world religion, the Spanish language, and playing with his grandson. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education and Psychology in 1989 at the University of North Texas and his Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in 2000 at Tarleton State University. He practiced counseling for a nonprofit based in Waco, Texas, from 2001-2008. He opened his private practice in Georgetown, Texas, in 2008. He continued his work in Allen, Texas, until his retirement in 2023. During his illness, he was surrounded by family and friends who supported him, and for that he was very grateful. He will be greatly missed by his wife Barbara, daughter Tara, son-in-law Brian, and his grandson Everett, among many others.

A celebration of life memorial service for Mark will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, Texas, 75033.

In lieu of flowers, Mark requested that donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
