David Adams passed away on March 17, 2025, at the age of 83 in Georgetown Texas.

Beloved son, brother, husband and father.

David was born in Junction, Texas, on March 1, 1942, to Jim and Alva Adams. David was a graduate of Georgetown High School, where he played football, basketball and track.

He was the QB and threw the first touchdown in the Georgetown Birkelbach football stadium, which was the brand new stadium.

In 1961, David married Elma Dorothy Perrin of Hutto. David was 19 and Dorothy was 16 when they eloped to Mexico and returned home all in one day. They told their parents three months later. They were married for 63 years.

David retired from the Department of Public Safety in Austin in 1995 after 30 years of service. David was a founding member of the Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown, Texas. His passions were fishing, basketball, softball and Baylor football. David also coached his kids little league sports as well as church league sports through Hyde Park Baptist Church in Austin, Texas.

David was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1990. He was very athletic and continued to play full court basketball until he could no longer stand unassisted. He was a fighter and outlived the doctor’s predictions by many years.

David is survived by his wife, Dorothy Adams; son Mark and wife Mandy of Adkins; son Shannon of Austin; son Stephen and wife Ericka of Pflugerville; brother Gary Adams of Birmingham, Alabama. Grandchildren are Tanette, Justin, Austin, Davis, Christian, Corinne, Aubrey, Julia and Olivia.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Jim and Alva Adams, as well as his grandparents Charles and Ann Osborn of Georgetown, and his granddaughter Madison Adams
