Michael Corse, Jr.
Michael Corse, Jr.
Michael Corse, Jr., 77, of Georgetown, Texas, passed away on March 22, 2025. He was born on January 27, 1948, in Weehawken, New Jersey.
After graduating from Saint Michael’s High School (Class of ’66) in Union City, New Jersey, he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. His time in service took him to Germany and Texas.
In 1984, he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Michael built a long and successful career in data processing, working at Citibank for 33 years until he retired in 2013 as a vice president.
In 2014, Michael became a volunteer for the Georgetown Police Department. He was a part of one of the first groups of Citizens on Patrol (COP), he worked in the police reception desk, and later he was named Volunteer Manager. He then became the volunteer administrator of Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS). During his time there, his sometimes prickly exterior earned him the nickname “Mr. Grumpy,” but those that knew him best knew he was a kind-hearted, loyal, gentle soul who cared deeply for his friends and family.
Mike was an avid stamp collector, a lover of cats, a gardener and a coin collector. He was a giver: you never knew what “neat” gift he would buy for you. But his defining characteristic was being a loving, dedicated father.
Although his family in California missed him very much, his Georgetown friends Bob and Dennis cared for him like a brother: offering him help when needed and surrounding him with kindness, laughter and good memories.
He is survived by his two daughters, Nicole and Gabrielle, his son-in-law, Alfred, and his two beautiful grandsons, Roman and Marius.
