Georgetown park trails closed due to water release from the dam

The Randy Morrow Trail and all trail crossings from Booty's Crossing into San Gabriel Park will be closed until further notice, according to the Georgetown Police Department and the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

In a Facebook post in the afternoon of July 7, the Parks and Recreation Department said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be doing a limited water release from the dam, and all trail crossings will be flooded.

Blue Hole Park and trails, Heritage Community Garden and the South Austin Avenue bridge remain closed while crews sort through debris and damage. According to GPD, they could remain closed for several days.
