This weekend, downtown Georgetown will turn into a winter wonderland with the 44th annual Christmas Stroll.
This year’s stroll — which takes place Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 7 — is Candyland themed. There will be a Candyland parade on Saturday, with Santa’s village, face painting and over 200 vendors with gifts worthy of the North Pole.
Throughout the weekend, there will also be live entertainment, dining options, and oversized candy props to take pictures with to memorialize the sweetest event of the season.
Roads will be closed around the Square, including Austin Avenue and Main Street through downtown, starting Friday.

- The new parking garage at Sixth and Main Streets
- The garage at Fourth and Rock streets
Event Schedule
The following events are scheduled for this weekend’s Christmas Stroll.
Friday, December 5: 4-9 p.m.
- A kickoff celebration starts Friday evening at about 4 p.m. and includes live entertainment and the illumination of downtown Georgetown’s holiday lights as night approaches.
- At the Candyland preview, attendees can stroll through over 200 vendor booths for Christmas shopping.
- The Wish Well House will host “Groovin’ with the Grinch” from 6-8 p.m. The event will feature everyone’s favorite Christmas villain, a photo area and dancing.
Saturday, December 6: 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- The Candyland Parade begins at 10 a.m. and includes floats, performers and local groups, who will welcome the Christmas season.
- Attendees can stroll through over 200 vendor booths.
- Santa’s Village on the courthouse lawn offers photo ops, Whoo Hair makeovers and face painters.
- The Candy Cane Kids Zone has crafts, treats and games for all ages. Additionally, the area will have Great Austin Comic Con characters, a rock wall, story time and an obstacle course.
- Candyland Snow in the Park will bring the Candyland theme to life with marshmallows of falling snow.
- Throughout the day, two stages will have live music and performances by musicians, schools and community groups.
Sunday, December 7: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- This is the last day to check out vendor booths.
- The Candy Cane Kids Zone will be open with activities and sweets for all ages.
- There will be final performances to close out the event.
