Williamson County is working to move the county jail and justice center operations away from downtown Georgetown by 2031.
Located at 306 West Fourth Street in Georgetown, the current jail opened in 1989 and can hold more than 1,000 inmates. The Justice Center, located at 405 Martin Luther King Jr Street in Georgetown, houses the District and County Courts at Law.
