Georgetown City Council recognized five employees for their years of service and dedication at the council workshop Tuesday, May 12.

  • Cody Glasscock – Permitting & Inspections – 5 years
  • Raymond Yanez – Systems Engineering – 10 years
  • Rudy Arredondo – Facilities – 10 years
  • Stephanie McNickle – Planning – 20 years

City council also celebrated two retiring long-time employees, who presented during city meetings for the last time Tuesday.

  • Laurie Brewer spent 33 years serving Georgetown as assistant city manager and, formerly, assistant financial director.
  • Parks and Recreation Director Kimberly Garrett was recognized for reaching 31 years of service as of Saturday, May 9.

Mayor Josh Schroeder, who was sworn back into office for a new term at the meeting, shouted out Ms. Brewer and the work she’s done for the City of Georgetown.

“If we end our service, like Laurie ended her career, we will have done a great thing for this community,” he said.
