James Kennedy Gordon II

James Kennedy Gordon II peacefully passed away on June 19, 2026 at The Light and Love Wellness Lighthouse in Milano, Texas.  He was born to Edna and James Gordon on July 12, 1929 in Point Blank, Texas. He grew up in several places near there: Cold Springs, Galveston, and Huntsville. He had 3 younger siblings: George, Mary Francis, and Marsha.

Jim was an incredible athlete playing football, basketball, baseball, and running track.  He served in the Navy and the Air Force during the Korean War.  He met and married Betty Westfall on March 4, 1955.  Jim earned his certification as a Draftsman/Piping Designer where he designed chemical plants by hand.  

Jim’s greatest joy was his family.  He is survived by his wife of 71 years Betty, his children: David (Jackie), Cindy (Joe); Grandchildren: Danny (Kristen), Laura (Britt), Andrew (Jennifer), Emily (Nate); Great-Grandchildren: Xavier, Kayanna, Kaedynce, Aiden, Tyler, Dylan, Elise, Isaiah, Adleigh, and Rynleigh, Sister, Mary Francis Landrum, Sister-in-law, Shirley Gordon, Sister, Marsha Batson (Vernon), and nieces and nephews and their families

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and James Gordon, his brother George Gordon, his brother-in-law Leon Landrum, his nephew Greg Gordon.

Jim was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle.  He loved Jesus, loved us all unconditionally and showed that every day through his grateful attitude!  He has left a legacy of thankfulness and love! 

On behalf of our family, we would like to thank Ashley Frei, Aubrey Layne, Patsy, and the Acara Hospice staff for their loving and compassionate care that you provided for Mr. Jim!  You gave him and our entire family peace and comfort as he entered the Kingdom of Heaven! The Light and Love Wellness Lighthouse will forever be in our thoughts and prayers for the beautiful care of our family members and others!  Thank you!!
