Parmer Ranch, Highland Village area residents concerned about commercial density
Council approves proposal on first reading
About 11.5 acres (red) could be annexed into the city and switched to C3 commercial zoning along Williams Drive. Highland Village (yellow) is residential single-family zoning, although a small area next Dragon Tree Lane could see commercial uses in the future because of the subdivision’s Planned Unit Development plan. Two existing C3 retail properties are also on the north side of Williams.
Residents on Tuesday, July 14, pushed back against 3C commercial zoning for a 11.59 acre property near Parmer Ranch and Highland Village.
Area residents said they weren’t opposing growth overall, but were concerned about the C3 commercial designation specifically. C3 is considered a more intense and higher-density zoning compared to C1, the lowest impact commercial zoning option.
