Learn and provide feedback on proposed new county jail
Williamson County will host two come-and-go community feedback sessions for its Justice Complex project this coming week.
Both meetings will be held at the Williamson County EMS North Campus, 3189 SE Inner Loop in Georgetown. Meetings will be held:
- Saturday, August 22, from 9:30-11:30 a.m.
- Thursday, August 27, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The Justice Complex project will build a new county jail and justice center away from downtown Georgetown, allowing the existing county jail at 306 West Fourth Street in Georgetown to be redeveloped or sold. After initial planning, commissioners purchased approximately 253 acres on SE Inner Loop in Georgetown for the project this spring.
Williamson County is wrapping up Phase 2 of the project, which looks at future Justice Complex programming. Commissioners this month directed the county to seek more community feedback on the overall plan before proceeding.
This week, residents are invited to share comments, provide feedback on processes and procedures and sketch ideas for the site’s layout.
