Arturo Cantu Soto, 74, entered eternal life on Friday January 19, 2024, with his wife, sons and many family members by his side in Georgetown, Texas.

Arturo was born on December 18, 1949, in Del Rio, Texas to loving parents Jose and Feliz Soto, who instilled in him the values of hard work and family.

Arturo met his wife Maricela Juarez while attending San Felipe High School in 1967 and later married June 17, 1968, in Del Rio. They eventually moved to Georgetown in 1979 and made a home for their four sons Arthur, Rudy, Joe Anthony, Gilbert and bonus son John.

Arturo dedicated over 38 years of his life to Texas Crushed Stone where he worked tirelessly to provide for his family and was given the CB handle Midnight Loader. His strong work ethic and unwavering commitment were evident not only in his professional life but also in the way he cared for those around him.

Arturo is preceded in death by his parents; son, Rudy Soto; brothers: Juan, Fernando, Guadalupe and Jose Soto; as well as his sister, Juanita Montez.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Maricela; sons: Arthur, Joe Anthony (Natasha), John (Rita) and Gilbert; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soto; grandchildren: Sierrah, Merrissa, Brendan, Joe Angel, Haileigh, Landon, JonLuke and Arabella Soto; great-grandchildren: Aayliah and Kingston Daniels; brothers: David, Conrado, Manuel, Humberto, Greg and Armando Soto; and his sister, Cecilia Garcia.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Berg and the compassionate staff at Baylor Scott & White, as well as Patty Carrillo and the team at Compassus Hospice Care, for their exceptional care during Arturo’s final days. A special thanks to granddaughter, Merrissa Soto, for her extra love and care she provided him over the last years.

A time of visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024, at Ramsey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in The Chapel of Ramsey Funeral Home. The burial will follow at Weir Cemetery. A celebration of Arturo’s life will continue at Weir Community Center following the burial services at 375 FM 1105, Weir, Texas 78674.

Arturo leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever live on through those whose lives he touched. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
