Barbara A. Strohl
Barbara A. Strohl, 72, of Bement passed away at 6:40 a.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Barbara was born October 11, 1951, in Clinton, Illinois, to Elmer “Bill” and Doris (Blythe) Jones. She married Richard “Dick” Strohl on June 14, 1969, in Bement, Illinois.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Dick Strohl of Bement; brother, Terry Jones (Gail) of Monticello; sister-in-law, Linda Schwartz (Allen) of Ivesdale; aunts, Mary Blythe of Monticello and Rui Blythe of Sullivan; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and Jean Sartor and all the Crossroads Café friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Todd Strohl, and brother-in-law Kenneth Strohl (Jane).
Barbara worked as a bank teller at Schwertner State Bank in Schwertner, Texas. She loved college basketball and the Illini, fishing, decorating and live music.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-8 p.m., Friday, February 16, 2024, with a memorial service beginning at
7 p.m. at the Piatt County Trail Blazers 1903 North Old Route 47, Monticello, Illinois 61856.
Memorials may be given to the Piatt County Food Bank or the Central Texas Food Bank.
