Betty Jo Chambers Zimmerman, age 95, went to her heavenly home on August 1, 2026. She was born in Taylor, Texas on September 24, 1930, to Joe Joseph Jonota and Maudie Elizabeth Moore Jonota.
She married Cecil V. Chambers on August 6, 1947. She was a homemaker and along with her husband Cecil, operated Chambers Mobil for years. Together they raised 4 children. Later in life she married Leonard Zimmerman.
Betty was a lifelong member of Gabriel Oaks Church of Christ and when she wasn’t reading her bible, she could be found in her garden tending to her blooms.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Cecil in 1988, her parents, and second husband Leonard Zimmerman.
Betty is survived by her sons, Cecil Randall Chambers of Weir, TX, Steve Lenerd Chambers of Jarrell, Tx, and Jerry Don Chambers of Georgetown, Tx, her daughter Jo Ann Cooper of Weir, brother Joe Arnet Jonota of Bertram, TX and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A visitation with the family was held at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 6-8 pm. A funeral ceremony took place the following morning, Saturday, August 8, 2026, also at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel beginning at 10 am. Following the service, Betty was laid to rest at IOOF Cemetery.
