It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved family member, Carissa Esther Loman Chancey.

Carissa was born on August 20, 1979, in Georgetown, Texas, to Sharon Spain Woods. She spent most of her childhood in Florence and the surrounding Central Texas area.

Carissa had a great passion for animals and enjoyed working with her hands. She loved spending time with her family and friends, but the time spent with her son Cody, were the most precious moments to her.

Carissa is preceded in death by her grandmother Ola Mae Spain and uncle Tommy Spain of Georgetown.

She is survived by her mother Sharon Spain Woods and son Cody Lynn Spain of Jarrell. Brother Michael Staton of Georgetown and sister Tanya Edgar of Florence. Aunt Charlotte Domel of Briarcliff. Nephew Justin Staton of Oklahoma City and Niece Heven Jackson of Killeen. Cousin’s James (Beau) Sanders and Christopher Domel of Briarcliff plus extended family in the Central Texas area.

Carissa was always a free spirit. She will be greatly missed, but we will always carry her memory in our hearts. May she rest easy at God’s hand.

Psalms 30:5

Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

“My chains are gone, I’ve been set free. My God my Savior has ransomed me and like a flood, His mercy reins, unending love, Amazing Grace”
