Charles Everett Tipton, age 96, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023 in Austin, Texas.  He was born March 7, 1927 to parents, Lewis Tipton and Rosa Merriwether Tipton in Kennard, Texas. Charles was in the Army Air Corps in WWII and had a distinguished career with the Texas Department of Transportation in Houston, before retiring to travel and tinker. 

Charles is survived by his wife of over 72 years, Dorothy Tipton; son, Jim and son-in-law, Michael all of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Rosa Tipton; and brothers, Earl, Robert, Lynn and Frank Tipton. 

Funeral services for Charles Everett Tipton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jim Tom Ainsworth officiating.  Interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Park in Crockett, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. prior to the service.

www.centraltexaswing.org to keep Charles’ beloved WWII aircraft flying which will be appreciated and matched by the family.
