Donna Renea Ford-Bishop, age 66, passed away on March 4, 2024, at Scott and White Hospital in Temple, Texas.
A Celebration of Life was held on Saturday March 16, 2024, at Leander VFW Post 10427 and at the Georgetown VFW Post 8587 on March 17, 2024, where a reception was also held. Donna was born in Cameron, Texas on October 18, 1957, to Betty Jo Short-Ford and Rayford Owen Ford.
Donna met her husband, Charlie Bishop in Beckbille, Texas, in 2018 and were wed in Ding Dong, Texas, on July 19, 2022 both residing in Walburg, Texas,. Donna had three children, Lacey Hammond of Beckville, Texas, Chrystal Doughtrey of Beckville, Texas, and Jarrod Bassett of Carthage, Texas, and Stepson, whom she always called son, Cody Bishop of Orange, Texas. Donna had 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Donna is survived by her children, husband Charlie Bishop and mother Betty Jo Short-Ford. She was preceded in death by her father Rayford Owen Ford. Donna was raised in Beckville, Texas, graduating in 1975. Donna was a longtime employee of Georgetown VFW Post 8587 and Leander VFW Post 10427.
Donna also worked for Kelley Whalen Law Offices in Georgetown. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan she could always be seen watching games on Sunday. Donna loved fishing and doing arts and crafts she was also an ardent lover of many genres of music. I lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Georgetown VFW Post 8587.
