Dr. Andrew Glenn Mahaffey, 69, of Georgetown, Texas passed away on August 19,2026 after a tragic accident.
Andy is best known for his vibrant personality, witty banter, mischievous sense of humor, all delivered in his “birthin’ boots”. He found his calling and passion in delivering babies. He also took pride in his ability to fix anything, he thrived on rock music (especially in the OR), and he loved his family without boundaries.
Born on August 5th in Del Rio, Texas, Andrew was the child of Glenn & Pat Mahaffey. He graduated from Texas A&M in 1979, followed by Texas A&M medical school, and residency at Scott & White Temple. He served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1986 to 1991 at Laughlin Air Force Base in Del Rio, Texas. After leaving the Air Force, he moved his family to Georgetown to enter private practice as an OB/GYN at Georgetown Women’s Center. In 2012 he went to work for Lone Star Circle of Care. Both OB/GYN offices were part of St. David’s Georgetown Hospital.
Andy is survived by wife of 46 years, Linda B. Mahaffey, his daughter, Jessica Ruffin, his son in law, Andrew Ruffin, his grandson, Luke Ruffin, his brother Rick Mahaffey, and wife Melinda Mahaffey, brother Rusty Mahaffey, and wife Lucy Mahaffey. And many more extended family & friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn & Pat Mahaffey.
