Earnest “Ernie” Ramirez
Earnest “Ernie” Ramirez, 68, of Andice, Texas, passed away on March 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on May 11, 1956, in Florence, Texas, he developed a strong work ethic, working as a migrant farm worker and participating in FFA, where he enjoyed showing steers and competing in livestock shows.
In 1984, Earnest married Maria, and they spent 41 years together, raising daughters Deanna and Cindy, and stepson Alfredo. Earnest was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He worked 45 years at Westinghouse Motor Company (now TECO Westinghouse), where he became a respected supervisor known for his leadership and mentorship.
He loved the outdoors, enjoying hunting, fishing and tending to his ranch. Earnest also enjoyed playing softball, pool and spending time with friends. As a lifelong member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church, he served on the finance council, as Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus and as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion.
Earnest is survived by his wife Maria, daughters Deanna and Cindy, stepson Alfredo, brother Robert, six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and many loved ones.
Visitation: Friday, April 4, from 6-8 p.m. at Ramsey Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Funeral Mass: Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Florence, Texas. Burial to follow at Andice Community Cemetery.
