Francis V. Navarrette
Francis V. Navarrette passed away peacefully in her sleep November 10, 2023, in Weir, Texas. She was born June 4, 1928 to Floyd and Clemencia Valdez in Florence, Texas. Francis married Dario L. Navarrette September 30, 1949.
She lived and worked on the farm for many years. She was later hired on at Southwestern University working at the Commons cafeteria. After retiring from Southwestern University, she worked in the cleaning department at Sun City. She was a member of the Weir Community Club, aka Weir Super Gals who would hold Senior Citizen Luncheons once a month and helped people in the community. During Christmas time, Francis made many dozen tamales which were enjoyed by many.
Francis was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Clemencia Valdez, two brothers, Lorenzo Valdez and Teodoro Valdez, two sisters, Margaret Reynaga and Lupe Valdez. She is survived by two sisters, Bella Caballero and Pauline Juarez, two sons, Dario Jr. (Chief) Navarrette, Norbert Navarrette and wife Julia and one daughter Carol Navarrette, two grandsons, Dylan Navarrette and wife Liz and James Navarrette and one granddaughter, Veronica Garner and husband Robert, three great grandsons, Diego and Paxton Navarrette and Austin Garner and two great granddaughters, Azrielle Navarrette and Savannah Cool.
A Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel in Georgetown, from 6-8 p.m. with the rosary beginning at 7 p.m.
The graveside services will take place the following afternoon, Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Georgetown Memorial Cemetery at
1 p.m..
