Glenn Alan Befort

Glenn Alan Befort passed away peacefully July 26, 2023 with his loved ones by his side.

Glenn was born on Feb. 9, 1941 to Philomena and Fidelis Befort in Hays, Kansas.  After growing up on the farm in Munjor, Kansas and attending Ft. Hays State, Glenn received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering at Kansas State.  Glenn and Emily met at Kansas State, married in 1964, and moved to Rochester, MN where Glenn began his storied career at IBM.  After stints in Florida and Georgia, the family settled for a while in Austin, TX.  Glenn continued his career with Rolm and Siemens  (Division President & CEO) in communications.  Glenn and Emily moved to California for a while before settling back in Texas in Berry Creek, Georgetown.  After serving as CEO of ARC Wireless Solutions, Glenn retired to become a full time golfer.

Glenn developed amazing friendships on and off the course over the years in Berry Creek.  He and Emily enjoyed regularly playing bridge, participating in Diners Club, and socializing with friends.  He always treasured those times and the memories made.

Glenn especially cherished his time with family.  He is survived by his wife, Emily, of 59 years and his two daughters: Lisa Correll (husband Jeff) and Michelle Teets (husband Darren).  Glenn is also survived by his eight grandchildren - Ryan, Sarah (husband Chris), Haley, Cassidy, Olivia, Jessica (husband Charles), Ian, Jacob – and 2 great grandchildren – Harrison and Evelyn.  He was thrilled to learn of another great grandchild-to-be the week before he passed.  Glenn is also survived by his brother, Gerald Befort (wife Betty), his brother-in-law Claude Robbins (wife Sherri), and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Glenn’s life will be held Thursday, Aug. 10 at 1pm at Ramsey Funeral Home: 5600 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78633.  A reception will follow at Berry Creek Country Club.

In honor of Glenn’s love for golf, please don your golf attire for the Service and Reception!
