Herbert Purbaugh

Herbert Purbaugh passed away on May 28 at the age of 86 in Georgetown, Texas. He was born on April 12, 1938, in Hammond, Indiana, to Robert Purbaugh and wife Sophie.

Herbert went to Kenwood, Washington and graduated from Hammond Tech High School in 1956. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964 in Germany ,where he earned the rank of Specialist. He loved fishing in the Florida Keys in the winter and also at his grandparents cottage in Cedar Lake, Indiana. When he was young he played little league baseball and enjoyed bowling. He loved his career at Teamster Local 142 and drove construction trucks for Red Top Trucking in Hammond and Metro Trucking in Lowell, Indiana. He was a 32 Mason in 60 years of membership.

Herbert is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sophie Purbaugh.

He is survived by his brother William Purbaugh, his wife Carol and her three sons. Michael Cozzi and his wife Colleen and their children; Lauren and Michael, Michael’s wife Callie and grandchild Kinley. Jamie Cozzi and Mark Cozzi and two sons Nick and Jacob.
