James Arthur Lee

James Arthur Lee was born on December 12, 1943, to Clarence O. Lee, and Leah Jeanne Jamison Lee in East Cayton Rouge, Louisiana. He died at his home in Granger, Texas, on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. He was 80 years old.

James was a natural leader. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren called him “Happy.” He was fun-loving with a contagious laugh. James was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast, who also enjoyed ham radio, coaching youth league football, scouting, fishing and golfing. James was a born-again believer in Jesus Christ who longed for and looked for His return, and he was a patriotic conservative who loved his country.

James was a 1961 graduate of Spring Branch High School in Houston, Texas. He graduated in 1965 from Texas A&M College in Bryan/College Station, Texas, with a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

James was president and founder of a general construction company for 31 years. Before that he was a district engineering manager of Clear Water Construction, and CECO Corporation.

James was preceded in death by his father Clarence O. Lee, his mother Leah Jeanne Jamison Lee Cook, his brother Clarence O. Lee Jr., his son Timothy Edward Lee, and his granddaughter Nicole Renee Lee.

He is survived by his wife Sandra (Deane), son Brian (wife Sherri), son Randy (wife Andrea), granddaughter Taylor Borer (husband Tyler), granddaughter Ashlyn, grandson Colton (wife Bethany), grandson Garrett (wife Alyssa), grandson Aaron (wife Emily), grandson Dylan, grandson Seth, grandson Caleb, great-granddaughter Brooklynn, great-grandson Joshua, great grandson Kase, great-granddaughter Bailey Mae, great-grandson Hastings, and great-grandson Caden.

The memorial service for James will be held at Heritage Baptist Church, 1601 FM 971, Georgetown, Texas, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2024, with internment to follow at the Weir Cemetery in Weir, Texas.
